Nothing lost between appointments.

A registered nurse and private care navigator goes with your parent to medical appointments, ensures understanding of what the doctor said, keeps an accurate record of their care, and tells you exactly what happened.

There is a particular kind of phone call. A parent has been to a specialist. You ask how it went, and the answer is fine. You ask what the doctor said, and the answer is that he seemed nice. You ask about the new medication, and there is a pause.

This is what a private care navigator does. We are there when you can’t be. We ask the questions, write down the answers, and make sure nothing gets lost between the exam room and your phone.

The Continuity File

One current, accurate record of your parent's medications, providers, history and directives, professionally maintained, held by us, and yours to keep.

The Evening Letter

After every appointment we attend, a written account reaches you before the day is out: what was discussed, what changed, what was not resolved, and what happens next.

The Standing Review

A scheduled call at a fixed time each month, held whether or not anything has happened. Siblings may join. Followed by a written summary.

The Decision Meeting

When a real decision arrives, such as an operation at 84, a move, or a change in the goals of care, the options are laid out in writing beforehand, and a nurse who has been at every appointment is in the room.

We are retained so that when the decision comes, someone who knows the whole history is in the room.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO

We are not a caregiving agency, and we do not provide hands-on nursing care or give medication. We do not replace your parent’s physicians or give medical advice. Our job is to make sure the care their physicians direct actually works.

We accept no commissions from senior living communities, home health agencies or any other provider. What we recommend, we recommend because we think it is right.

Courtney Bell, RN, Private Care Navigator

Courtney spent ten years as an intensive care nurse. The ICU showed her where care comes apart: patients seen by many specialists, each treating their own piece, and no one holding the whole picture, least of all the family. She founded Encompass RN because coordination decides outcomes, and coordination is nobody’s job.

Registered Nurse, licensed in Texas. References from families are available on request.

Encompass RN is a private-pay care navigation practice. Most families begin with The Orientation, a paid first engagement that produces the Continuity File and a written baseline within ten days, and move to a monthly retainer from there.

We do not bill Medicare, Medicaid or any insurer, and our fees are not reimbursable. That is deliberate: it means the nurse answers to your family and to no one else.

Families usually weigh the fee against what they’re already spending: missed workdays, hours on hold, and appointments that end with no clear answer.

This practice accepts [twelve] families.

If that number is not yet reached, an introduction is a twenty-minute call — not a consultation, and not a sales conversation. Its only purpose is to establish whether this is the right thing for your family.
